What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect your username and email address. When you create an account, we collect the sign-in method you choose: an email address, a phone number, or an Apple or Google sign-in token. When you use the scan tool, we receive the image you submit and return a pricing result. We do not store your images after the scan is complete.
How we use it
- Email: to notify you when your waitlist spot opens and for product updates you can opt out of at any time.
- Scan data: processed in real time to generate pricing intelligence. We do not sell it. It is shared only with the service providers listed below, and only as far as is needed to return you a result.
SMS and your phone number
If you create or sign in to a LootLens account with your phone number, we collect that number and use it to send you a one-time verification code by SMS. We also use it for account and security messages, such as a code when you sign in on a new device.
These are transactional messages you triggered yourself. LootLens does not send marketing or promotional text messages and does not run SMS campaigns. Message frequency is typically one message per sign-in attempt. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from us. Reply HELP for help, or email support@lootlens.ai. If you stop texts, you can still reach your account with email, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with anyone. Your number is passed only to our messaging carrier, Telnyx, for the sole purpose of delivering the message you asked for.
You can remove your phone number from your account at any time in the app, or by emailing support@lootlens.ai.
Third-party services
LootLens uses eBay's Browse API to fetch sold-listing pricing data. Scanned item data may be sent to this API as a search query. No personal information is included in these queries.
Analytics are handled by Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first, cookieless provider. Plausible sets no cookies, does no cross-site tracking, and receives no personal data.
Other companies process data for us so the app can work. Each one gets only what its job needs, none of them is an advertising or analytics network, and none of them receives your data to use for their own purposes.
- PhotoRoom: when you remove the background from an item photo, that photo is sent to PhotoRoom to be processed and the result is returned. PhotoRoom states that it does not save images processed through its API, and its terms forbid training models on them.
- eBay: item descriptions are sent as search queries to fetch pricing. If you connect a seller account, listing and sales data moves between us and eBay on your behalf.
- Apple and Google: if you sign in with either, we exchange sign-in tokens with them to confirm it is you. In-app purchases are billed by Apple, and we receive the purchase state, not your payment details.
- Stripe: web payments are processed by Stripe, which receives your email and payment details directly. We never see or store a card number.
- Expo: push notifications are delivered through Expo, which receives a device push token. A push token identifies a device, not you.
- Cloudflare: our servers and database run on Cloudflare, which processes requests on our behalf.
We do not use advertising trackers. LootLens sends no data to advertising or attribution networks, and does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, because it does not.
Cookies
LootLens does not use tracking cookies. Your scan quota (3 free scans per day on web) is stored in your browser's localStorage and never sent to our servers.
Connected accounts
If you connect your eBay seller account through LootLens, we store an OAuth refresh token to enable listing creation and sales tracking on your behalf. This token is stored securely in our database and is never shared with third parties. You can disconnect your eBay account at any time from the app settings, which permanently removes the stored token.
Data retention
Waitlist data is retained until you request removal. If you have connected an eBay account, your OAuth token and associated account data are also removed upon request. Send a deletion request to support@lootlens.ai and we will remove your record within 5 business days.
